:: Bruker AXS Introduces New S8 LIONTM Simultaneous WDXRF Spectrometer for Cement, Minerals and Mining Applications

At Pittcon® 2009, Bruker AXS today introduced the S8 LIONTM simultaneous WDXRF spectrometer for process and quality control in the cement, minerals and mining industries. The S8 LION is an innovative high-end industrial grade system which combines ease-of-use with analytical speed and highest reliability. It is designed and built for precise high speed elemental analysis, and it can simultaneously measure up to 16 elements with precision of 0.05% (RSD) and with a time-to-result of less than 60 seconds. All applicable industry standards, like ASTM C-114, are easily matched or exceeded.

The S8 LION also has the ability to measure the free-lime (CaO) concentration in raw materials, intermediate compounds and final products like cement and industrial minerals. With a footprint less than 1m2, the S8 LION is the most compact high-performance simultaneous WDXRF spectrometer in the market, allowing simple integration into any laboratory and process automation.

The S8 LION integrates Brukerís unique TouchControlTM and SampleCareTM features for extreme ease of use and reliability. TouchControl enables simple and essentially fail-safe operation via the integrated touch screen requiring no training for users. Several languages for the user interface are available, such as English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. SampleCare ensures maximum uptime and availability with the tube-above-sample setup to protect the S8 LION against contamination.
