:: Orespex Rock Identification Analyser System OreSpex, Lase-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) analyser system, is designed for identification of rock types or quality classes in mines and quarries to provide real-time information for quality control in handling and processing ores. LIF is an optical method where high-energy laser induces characteristic fluorescence of the mineral to be analysed. OreSpex operates on-line, non-contact and over variable distances and it can be installed both underground and in the open pit mines. Tha main fields of application are dilution control based on the identification of different rock types, quality control of run-of-mine (r-o-m) ore based on the different fluorescence of different minerals in the rock and the detection of changes in the composition of material. OreSpex system consists of LIF analyser Probe, SU (electrical supply unit) and IMA PM-station with system computer, where the analysis information is evaluated and calculated to provide necessary data and graphic displays for process monitoring and control actions. The installation and commissioning time needed for OreSpex system is only 2-3 weeks, and the periodical service is done once a year. Thanks to the rugged construction the need for spare parts is minor. IMA Remote Support service through IMA i-NET is available also for OreSpex like for all other IMA products.
