:: PANalytical Introduces Axios - The Next Step in X-ray Analysis Axios is a new range of PANalytical WDXRF (Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence) spectrometers with applications and capabilities tailored to meet the precise needs of specific industries. Axios is robust - built to work perfectly in unforgiving, on-site industrial conditions. Consequently, analytical performance is unaffected by heat and dust, assuring you of the precision required in typical production control environments. By delivering this degree of specialization, the Axios concept represents a breakthrough solution for numerous sectors including manufacturing, mining, research, geology and environmental technology. As XRF analysis becomes more sophisticated, its value to industry increases. Axios reinforces this trend by incorporating industry-specific instruments and software options into dedicated systems, making Axios supremely effective across many sectors. "PANalytical is able to offer this degree of specialization because we never stop working and communicating with customers in order to understand their needs and respond to their problems. Indeed, we often develop our products in partnership with customers - a policy that we call ‘Winning by Sharing’ " comments Drs Pieter de Groot, Marketing Manager XRF. “Among the industries that Axios serves with this approach are cement, petrochemicals, industrial minerals, mining, and polymers and plastics. Axios also meets the growing need for industry to act in accordance with regulations such as WEEE and ROHS. Axios systems comply with all relevant international norms and standards.” Like all PANalytical systems, Axios delivers numerous innovations and improvements - across all aspects of performance. A new X-ray tube - the SST-mAX - achieves extra performance and an extended operating range. The new mAX technology guarantees stable tube output all the way up to 160 mA, improving analytical performance in the light element range. Axios also incorporates the latest innovations in multilayer technology for analyzing crystals. The result is a performance boost in which sensitivity can be doubled for elements such as boron. Other Axios innovations that make fast, standardless analysis so easy are sophisticated counting electronics, the fastest and most accurate goniometer, unmatched sensitivity, and the best fundamental parameters software package available. Axios is ergonomically designed to be highly accessible and a pleasure to work with. It also features reduced noise levels. Sample handling is more advanced than ever, with an integrated sample changer and a choice of loading mechanics. Axios systems can be incorporated easily into fully automated laboratory systems. For many years, PANalytical has set the standard in analysis software with its proven and popular SuperQ software. All Axios systems run on a new version (4.0) of SuperQ. SuperQ is easy-to-use, with a highly intuitive interface and menu structure. It gives you functions such as the powerful combination of QuickStart measurements and Automatic Program Selection. Operator privilege settings can be configured to control access to critical application parameters. Consequently, most day-to-day operation is a push-button exercise that can be carried out by inexperienced personnel after a minimum of instruction. Furthermore, the new version incorporates an improved user interface for sample handling, multiple languages, refinements in trace analysis and compatibility with FDA reporting requirements. SuperQ is a modular design with multiple program options for specific industries and analysis needs. All modules deliver the highest levels of performance for specialized analysis or procedures. Modules include: IQ+ for standardless analysis; Pro-Trace for sub-ppm analysis; FP-Multi for advanced layer analysis; SPC for statistical analysis; UAI for total integration; XRD/TWIN and Supervisor for dual analysis and Type Standardization for the steel industry.
