:: Top Honours for Brisbane-based Exporter

Brisbane-based mineralogical business, Intellection Pty Ltd has been honoured as a finalist in the 2005 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards.

After only two years trading commercially, Intellection was a finalist in two of three nominated categories; the Emerging Exporter Award and Dermot McManus Award. The nominations can be primarily attributed to Intellection’s particle analysis system, QEMSCANTM.

In October, Intellection was awarded the Emerging Exporter Award at the Australian British Chamber of Commerce Ceremony.

QEMSCANTM is the fastest, most accurate particle analysis and identification tool in the world. The technology was originally developed for the mining and minerals industry and is now expanding into areas such as forensic geoscience, oil and gas exploration, coal and environmental geology.

"These awards and nominations are a tribute to our staff and the amazing possibilities, both locally and internationally, of this technology," says Intellection CEO Calvin Treacy.

"Our exports are expected to grow considerably over the next five years given the current mining environment that is being driven by economic growth in India, China, Russia and Brazil."

It is anticipated that these awards will now position Intellection as a major contender in the export arena.
