:: Newmont Mining Awards Contract to SGS in Ghana

SGS have been awarded a contract to provide analytical services on-site to Newmont Gold's Ahafo Gold Project in Ghana. Ahafo is an 11 moz resource that will add in excess of 500,000 oz pa to Newmont production from mid 2006. Newmont, currently the world's largest gold producer, awarded the contract worth CHF5mio over three years. The award further strengthens SGS' position as a provider of geochemical analysis to ore beneficiation projects globally. SGS Ahafo will be the tenth geochemistry laboratory operated by SGS in West Africa."
