:: Australia's Intellection Forges Alliance with MEI Australian company Intellection Pty Ltd, and Minerals Engineering International (MEI) of UK, have agreed to collaborate on a series of annual Automated Mineralogy conferences. The first event in the series was held in Brisbane in July, and was attended by around 90 delegates from 10 countries. Leading players exhibiting their wares were Intellection, JKTech, Struers, Carl Zeiss, SGS and nanoTechnology Systems. According to MEI’s Barry Wills, automated mineralogy is one of the fastest growing areas in the minerals industry. "We are very proud to be involved with Intellection, one of the world’s leaders in this field, in promoting the evolution of this exciting new technology", said Dr. Wills. Dr. Alan Butcher of Intellection said "It was wonderful to see so many specialists all in one place, discussing and interacting. Judging from the incredible response, and the quality of the presentations, there is little evidence to suggest that this renewed interest in mineralogy by the earth resources industry is slowing down at all."
