:: BioteQ To Treat Acid Drainage At Two More Sites

BioteQ Environmental Technologies has successfully commercialised its patented biological process, in cooperation with Paques, for the treatment of acid drainage with concurrent selective metal recovery. BioteQ's first plant, at the caribou Mine in New Brunswick, Canada, has now had a full year of operation and has provided the design basis for two new projects currently under construction: the first at Falconbridge's Raglan Mine (www.min-eng.com/biotech/18.html) and the second at the Copper Queen mine near Bishee, Arizona, owned by Phelps Dodge, where copper is being recovered from a recirculating process stream.

Brad Marchant, President of BioteQ (bmarchant@bioteq.com) describes the plant operations in the September 2003 issue of Minining Environmental Management (pps. 14-15).
