:: Loesche Coal Grinding Technology for Holcim and Lafarge A contract has been signed between Lafarge / Beocin and Loesche GmbH for a semi-turnkey coal/petcoke grinding plant to be set up at the Beocin works in Serbia. The contract comprises the complete mechanical installation including erection, steel structure and commissioning. The selected mill type is an LM 28.2 D with a guaranteed capacity of 47 t/h at 12 % R 90 µm for coal and 22 t/h at 4 % R 90 µm for petcoke. Due to the special plant requirements it is foreseen to grind petcoke and coal separately according to the required fuel quality for the kiln and the pre-calciner and/or a coal-fired hot gas generator, which are required for drying the cement raw material. On 04.12.2002 Loesche signed a contract with Holcim / Novi Popovac for a semi-turnkey coal/petcoke grinding plant for the Novi Popovac plant. The mill type LM 20.2 D will produce 25 t/h coal or 24 t/h petcoke/coal mixture, respectively, at a fineness between 8 - 10 % R 90µm. Both mills are equipped with the most modern advanced hydraulic system providing the highest flexibility and a very smooth mill operation when grinding solid fuels with a high variation in grindability. Currently, Loesche has received 6 orders for coal grinding plants for the cement industry in the Balkans.
