:: Complete crushing and screening plant for Carrières de la Loire

French quarry operator Carrières de la Loire has taken delivery of a new stationary plant incorporating advanced crushing and screening equipment supplied by Metso Minerals. The quarry, about 60 km west of Lyon, has been fully operative since May 2002. The rock types crushed are microgranite and amphibolite.

The stationary plant at Carrières de la Loire takes advantage of the new and highly successful TS Series screen concept.

The stationary plant consists of four Nordberg HP Series cone crushers and five TS Series screens. Material between the crushers and screens is transported by Nordberg belt conveyors. All crushing and screening operations in the plant are fully enclosed to comply with stringent environmental regulations regarding dust and noise.

Another of the plant's key design elements is the new TS Series screen concept which combines the advantages of 'banana' geometry and elliptical stroke vibrations. Conventional screens would have required much heavier foundations and steel structures, meaning much larger and more expensive units.
