:: Improved Cement Grinding Crushing and grinding is featured in the September 2003 issue of World Cement: Roller mills, also known as vertical mills, are increasingly used in the cement industry, since they enable particularly economical and energy-efficient grinding. B. Mathiaszyk offers ways of minimising damage to the roller mill drives in an article entitled Mill Drive Modifications. In an article (better Grinding Systems), Siegfied Strasser, of KHD Humboldt Wedag, Germany, discusses advances in grinding technology, and in particular the development of the V-separator and the VSK-Separator. H. Wiesbock et al describe the modernisation of two tube mill drives at a cement plant in Germany, in an article entitled 'Modernisation of cement mill drives'. Peter Kalkert describes ('A logical answer') how the problem of 'hot' spots in cement mills can be solved by the use of technical equipment developed by his company.
