:: Group Awarded Guinea Alumina Contract

Process solutions group Honeywell last week reported it has contracted to work side-by-side with Global Alumina Products Corporation (Gapco) for a multi-year automation project on the construction of Gapco's proposed greenfield alumina refinery in Guinea.

Honeywell will implement technology solutions that maximise the refinery's uptime, enhance operator effectiveness and optimise plant performance.

Gapco intends to develop, finance and construct a 2,8-million t/y alumina refinery in the Boké region of Guinea with potential expansion of production capacity to 4,2-million t/y over the next ten years.
