:: Metal Recovery Sought From Acid Mine Drainage

Australian Mining Investments has lodged a proposal for metal recovery from the acid mine drainage being generated from a major Australian mine. Australian Mining Investments said the proposal was lodged with the Tasmanian government, for the recovery of copper, aluminium, cobalt and zinc.

The company claimed the remediation and recovery of the metals was significant on a world scale.

AMI said the proposal for stage one was to produce copper sulfate, copper oxychloride and copper hydroxide using its patented column technology. The company reported that the removal of aluminium, cobalt, zinc and feric iron would occur at the next stage.
