:: BacTech, Gold Bullion Team up in Cobalt Camp
Toronto-based Bactech Mining and Gold Bullion Development of Vancouver have teamed up to test the possibility of retreating the tailings from the former Castle silver-cobalt mine near Cobalt.
Gold Bullion has shipped a 500-tonne sample of tailings to SGS Lakefield for testing. Lakefield will conduct mineralization analysis, study a method of pre-concentration, and perform bioleaching tests on the sample. The goals are twofold. First, BacTech will be studying the affect of bioleaching on neutralizing the associated arsenic in the concentrate and, second, determining the viability of recovering the contained cobalt, silver and nickel.
