:: Lumwana Primary Crushing Plant Commissioned Bateman Engineering is pleased to provide a project update reporting that Equinox Minerals Limited has accepted handover of the Primary Crushing and Conveying circuit at the Lumwana Copper Project in Zambia. Following the handover crushing operations have commenced, with crushed material currently being stockpiled in preparation for commissioning of the remainder of the process plant. All replacement equipment damaged in the fire in July 2008 has now been delivered to site, with final installation and commissioning currently underway for handover of the balance of the process plant to Equinox within the next 4-6 weeks. The Primary Crushing circuit, including a 4.5 km overland conveyor, has crushed and transported over 150,000 tonnes of material. During initial testing consistent rates in excess of 4,000 tonnes per hour have been achieved, exceeding the crushing design throughput rate of 3,309 tonnes per hour. This represent crushing design throughput of approximately 30 million tonnes per annum.
