:: Anvil to Commence Copper Production from SX-EW Plant
Anvil Mining is scheduled to commence production of copper from its new Kinsevere Stage II Solvent Extraction Electrowinning (SX-EW) plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the current quarter.
It is anticipated that the newly constructed plant will triple the company's annual copper production to about 60,000t of copper cathode.
Production at the firm's Kinsevere Stage I Heavy Media Separation (HMS) plant has been put on hold, allowing resources to focus on the commissioning and ramp-up of the SX-EW plant.
Granted the current rate of progress with ramp-up and commissioning, the company anticipates that the 5,000 tonnes per month design capacity will be achieved during the fourth quarter of 2011.
