:: Tarkwa Moves from Heap Leaching to CIL Gold Field's volume driven opencast Tarkwa Gold mine, in Ghana, which mines a low grade orebody, has completed its transition from contractor to owner mining, and is planning what will be a tripling of the size of its carbon-in-leach gold processing plant from its original design capacity as it prepares to ease itself away from heap leach processing. The operations are described in Mining Review Africa, issue 4 (2006) pps. 16-19).
