:: First Gold From South Africa's Modder East Underground Ore
Gold One is pleased to announce that it has poured its first 240 ounces of gold from underground Modder East ore, well ahead of schedule, marking yet another major achievement in the development of its flagship Modder East gold mine. This Modder East gold pour follows the successful commissioning of the Modder East plant in June 2009 using low grade third party surface material.
The newly commissioned processing plant has also successfully treated Sub Nigel ore which has been mined since January of this year. A total of 600 ounces of gold has been produced to date.
Commenting on this achievement, and the progress of Gold One`s Modder East gold mine, Neal Froneman, President and CEO stated "Gold One is delighted to have successfully produced its first gold from Modder East, and to have successfully delivered on another important milestone. Gold One is building a strong record of delivering on its stated objectives and this is important to us. Gold One remains on track to meet its gold production target of 20,000 ounces this year."
