:: First Ore Fed Through Loulo Mill
South African mining consultancy MDM has announced that the project milestone of feeding first ore into the mill at Loulo Gold Mine has been reached.
Loulo is a project that MDM are executing with Randgold Resources in Mali, West Africa.
The gold inventory is now being built up in the circuit, paving the way for the first gold production.
Loulo is the second large scale mine that MDM has built with Randgold Resources in Mali - the first being Morila, where first gold was poured in October 2000.
Director of projects Clinton Redman commented that this achievement, four months ahead of the original schedule, was as a result of the great teamwork that exists between the owner's team, MDM and all contractors and suppliers and extends resounding congratulations to all.
