:: Goldbelt to Move Plant to Burkina Faso

Toronto's Goldbelt Resources has bought a processing plant from Tanami Gold of Australia for the Inata development at Goldbelt's Belahouro gold project. The plant was originally designed and built by SIGNET ENGINEERS (previously Bateman Engineering (Australia)) and was first commissioned in 1988.

The gold plant includes a crushing circuit, ore stockpile and ore reclaim system, both a SAG and ball mill with classification circuit, carbon-in-leach tanks, elusion and gold room building, carbon regeneration circuit, pumps, compressors, reagent mixing and storage units, plant services and a laboratory.

Tanami operated the plant at a rate of 1.2 million tonnes/year, but Goldbelt says the capacity will be more than 1.5 million tonnes/year with little or no modification because the Inata ore is a softer oxide type. Goldbelt is anticipating a feasibility study that will evaluate the requirements for the plant to be expanded to a capacity of 2.0 million tonnes/year, for approximately 150,000 oz of gold annually. The study of the Inata project will be completed fourth quarter of 2006 and will focus on the upgrade and relocation of Tanami Gold's plant.
