:: GRD Minproc Awarded Contract for Munali Nickel Project
Leading international engineer GRD Minproc continues to expand its portfolio of African work with the US$100m Munali Nickel Project in Zambia. GRD Minproc, the engineering arm of GRD Limited, has been awarded the procurement and construction management contract by Albidon Limited.
“Through the Munali Nickel Project we will help Albidon make the transition from explorer to miner," GRD Limited Chief Executive Cliff Lawrenson commented from Johannesburg. Munali is located 60 kilometres south of the Zambian capital Lusaka and will produce an estimated 8,500 tonnes of nickel in concentrate per annum.
As part of the contract, GRD Minproc will deliver a greenfields nickel concentrator with associated infrastructure. “Our return to Zambia following the award winning Kansanshi project comes as we also undertake work on copper/cobalt, uranium and gold projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia and Mali," Mr Lawrenson said.
