![]() Minor Elements 2000: Processing and Environmental Aspects of As, Sb, Se, Te, and Bi
Book Reviews: This book is the proceedings volume of an SME meeting held in Salt Lake City in 2000 and is subtitled Processing and Environmental Aspects of As, Sb, Se, Te, and Bi. It is an excellent idea to devote a volume to these minor elements which accompany mainly copper, nickel, gold, and tin ores and are usually neglected in metallurgy textbooks. In this volume the authors discuss the problems associated with arsenic occurrence not only in ore deposits but also in the water wells in Bangladesh and West Bengal in India. Some articles even discuss the problems of cadmium and lead. The book comprises 37 papers written by specialists and well-known researchers. Each article is well documented. Figures and photographs are clear and editing is excellent. The book is an important addition to the metallurgist’s library but chemists, chemical engineers, and geologists will certainly benefit from acquiring it. The editor is with the Metallurgical Engineering Department, Montana Tech of the University of Montana in Butte, Montana.
