:: Dwyka & De Beers Unite In Tailings Project

Dwyka Diamonds Limited, together with BEE partner Kolong Investments, have entered into an agreement with diamond giant, De Beers, to retreat diamond tailings from De Beers' Kimberley mines.

Dwyka CEO and director of Superkolong, Melissa Sturgess said "The tailings project will provide the partnership with a significant high-margin revenue stream supported by De Beers and its long-established operations at Kimberley. We have the opportunity, together with Kolong, to build our relationship with De Beers and demonstrate our capability in operating profitable diamond extraction operations".

The agreement should create early and sustainable profits for Dwyka, who has experience in the design and construction of efficient and effective diamond processing plants.

The project with De Beers allows for agreed monthly tonnages to be processed, guaranteed diamond feed grades and set diamond prices. Dwyka expect that feed tonnages will be increased rapidly subject to the plant performing to high efficiency levels.

Technical talks between Dwyka and De Beers have been underway for a number of months and construction of the plant has already commenced. First production is expected in November 2005.
