:: AMIRA P754 Metal Accounting and Reconciliation
Mining companies world wide are under pressure to improve corporate governance with respect to metal accounting from mine to product and to improve the credibility and transparency of the reporting process.
This project will build on existing measurement technology to attack this problem. Modelling and database technology will be used to transform the metal accounting process from a costly and time consuming corporate encumbrance into a profit centre.
The development of the Guidelines/Code has been accelerated at the wish of current Sponsors and a draft is scheduled for the end of 2004. Companies are invited to join the project for the final 2 years to gain access to these guidelines. By having their own guidelines incorporated into this work, future recognition of these by Industry and the financial/auditing sector will be achieved.
