:: Foxboro overcomes flow problems

Foxboro Great Britain Ltd, part of the Invensys Process Systems group, says that chemical additives, slurries and high-consistency pulsating flows all generate high process-signal noise which can make flow metering exceedingly difficult. The company believes that its MagEXPERT IMT96 magnetic flow-meter can overcome the problems of signal noise. According to Foxboro, the unit's eX-Pulse technology combines the ease of use and reliability of traditional ac meters with an accuracy that surpasses that of traditional intelligent dc meters.

Foxboro says that the unit features an online intelligent diagnostic/help capability, and a simple menu-driven software-based configuration. It notes that the unit is compatible with existing flow-meter systems, and provides users with high accuracy, rapid response and low power consumption. The company says that the unit can be mounted on a pipe, wall, panel or floor and is particularly suited for use in the mining and minerals industries.
