:: LKAB, SKF and Sandvik Mining and Construction form joint company

LKAB, SKF and Sandvik Mining and Construction have decided to form a joint company for advanced monitoring control. The company, MCC - Monitoring Control Centre, will be owned by SKF (67,5 %), LKAB (20%) and Sandvik (12,5%).

Monitoring control means advanced condition monitoring and control of equipment and processes. Monitored process or machine sends signals to MCC. The information is then processed by MCC's monitoring control system and sent back to the operation for corrective action. SKF already has extensive experience of this kind of monitoring technology.

Sandvik Mining and Construction's goal with this investment in future technology is to be able to serve the customers with better preventive maintenance and service, which offers added value for the customers through increased productivity.

With this system LKAB aims to be more effective in proactive maintenance and service. It will also improve the utilization of equipment. MCC will concentrate in serving LKAB's mines in the beginning with ambition to start working with other customers worldwide later on.
