The Ian Wark Research Institute (The Wark^TM) is the headquarters for the Australian Mineral Science Research Institute (AMSRI) which has been established to strengthen Australian technological and scientific leadership in particle science and engineering.

The research conducted by AMSRI will transform the mineral industry and extend to other industries concerned with particle science and engineering. Research will be conducted between The Wark and the Universities of Melbourne, Newcastle, Queensland and industrial partners through AMIRA International.
