The metallurgists, hydrometallurgists and chemical engineers at SGS are experienced in all of the major physical and chemical separation processes utilized in the recovery of precious, base and light metals from ores, concentrates, waste products and secondary feeds. Batch and continuous pilot plant equipment is available for testwork on grinding, flotation, gravity, magnetic or electrostatic separation, as well as heap, stirred tank, pressure and bacterial leaching. Technologies such as CIP, RIP, solvent extraction, electrowinning, chemical reduction and precipitation for solution purification and product recovery, are routinely used in integrated pilot plant testing. SGS also offers in-plant audits, start up, automated process control and pilot plants and can provide outsourced on-site laboratories.
