Akzo Nobel

AKZONOBEL
Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals B.V., P.O. Box 247, 3800 AE Amersfoort, The Netherlands

AkzoNobel is proud to be one of the world's leading industrial companies. Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we make and supply a wide range of paints, coatings and specialty chemicals. In fact, we are the largest global paints and coatings company. As a major producer of specialty chemicals we supply industries worldwide with quality ingredients for life's essentials. We think about the future, but act in the present. We're passionate about introducing new ideas and developing sustainable answers for our customers. That's why our 60,000 employees - who are based in more than 80 countries - are committed to excellence and delivering Tomorrow's Answers TodayTM.

AkzoNobel Mining

We are at the forefront of the advanced colloid and surface chemistry upon which successful flotation and pelletization depends. Our company develops and manufactures flotation chemicals, both collectors and depressants, and organic binders for iron ore agglomeration.

Collectors

We develop and produce cationic, nonionic, anionic and amphoteric collectors. The fields we are working with are calcite (removal of graphite and/or silicates), apatite (especially ores containing calcite or dolomite), potash (both direct and reversed flotation of potash) and iron ore (removal of silicates and/or apatite).

Depressants

Minerals depressed with CMC are mainly talc in nickel and platinum group metal (PGM-) ores and clay in potash ores. AkzoNobel Functional Chemicals produces a large variety of CMC products differing in molecular weight, charge and purity. We select the best DEPRAMINTM grades in cooperation with customers or develop dedicated products with special functionalities when necessary.

Pelletization

While for the agglomeration of iron ore pellets bentonite is considered as a standard for a long time, PERIDURTM is used more and more as an organic binder. PERIDURTM does not contaminate the fired pellets with extra gangue like bentonite does and saves money in the reduction- and iron making process.

Cheminova A/S

CHEMINOVA A/S
Thyboroenvej 76-78, DK-7673 Harbooere, Denmark

Cheminova A/S - your reliable supplier of dithiophosphate collectors

  • Global player
  • Export to more than 100 countries
  • World leader with 50+ years of experience producing organo-phosphorous compounds
  • In-house specialized staff to ensure efficient distribution of chemicals worldwide
  • Supply products of the highest quality in the market

DanafloatTM Collectors

Cheminova’s dithiophosphate collectors are marketed globally under the brand name DanafloatTM. In addition, Cheminova sells other types of flotation agents to offer a broad product line for froth flotation to the mining industry. DanafloatTM product lists by ore type and by product available on www.cheminova.com \Business Areas\Other Products\Flotation Agents.

Production

Through its almost 70-year history Cheminova has grown into the largest basic manufacturer of organo-phosphorous compounds, including dithiophosphate flotation reagents, competitive due to the economics of scale in purchasing and production. Cheminova uses the latest process technologies and methods including continuous processes. Our in-house process development and improvement capabilities are two of our company’s core competitive strengths.

To control our product quality and costs, Cheminova has vertically integrated our chemical production. Cheminova converts elemental phosphorus and sulphur into phosphorus pentasulfide at the largest such plant in Europe. Selected alcohols are then reacted with the phosphorus pentasulfide to flotation dithiophosphate reagents as acid products and liquid solutions neutralized with sodium, potassium or ammonium hydroxide. Due to Cheminova’s process flexibility, products can be tailored to our customers’ process requirements. Cheminova can supply from less than one ton up to several thousand tons of a product.

Logistics

Cheminova has long experience in distributing products to more than 100 countries around the world. A logistical system is always designed in co-operation with the customer depending on the importance of different factors, such as speed, cost, safety, packaging, etc.

In addition, our extensive experience in packaging and labelling ensures the highest standards for product delivery and environmental compliance. Safety during transport is of particular importance to us.

It is our belief that our logistical flexibility provides our customers with a competitive advantage.

Service & technical support

Cheminova field and laboratory technical services personnel support customer design of a flotation reagent suite needed to maximize mineral recovery for each ore. Resultant reagents can include the industry’s widest range of dithiophosphates, thionocarbamates, mercaptobenzothiazole and possibly specifically designed chemistries for your application. Additionally, product blends may be supplied depending on the metallurgical requirements for a specific ore.

Quality products, long experience and technical plus logistics support makes Cheminova an attractive partner to the mining industry.
