:: Tailings Co-Disposal

Tailings co-disposal is a means of disposing of conventional mill tailings within the void space of a waste rock dump. The concept is to dispose of the tailings simultaneously with the waste rock or leach ore, controlling the rate of tailings to coarse material, such that the resulting dump is physically and chemically stable.

An article, based on papers by Vector Engineering personnel, describing the concept, can be found in the March 2004 issue of Mining Environmental Management (pps. 22-24).
