:: Doe Run Agrees Home Purchases  

The Doe Run Co. has agreed to offer to buy residential properties where children younger than 72 months live within about 3/8 of a mile (about 600m) of its lead smelter in Herculaneum, Montana. Doe Run reached the agreement with the US Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Health and Senior Services in response to concerns about elevated blood lead-levels in children living near to the smelter.
