:: Mineworx Joint Venture with Enviroleach Begins Second Phase of Electronic Waste Concentration Plant

Mineworx holds a license for EnviroLeach’s patent-pending alternative to widely used toxic methods of extracting gold from ore and electronic waste

Mineworx Technologies Ltd has said that it has begun phase 2 of the Vancouver waste processing plant that it operates with EnviroLeach Technologies Inc.

Vancouver-based Mineworx holds a license for Burnaby, British Columbia-based EnviroLeach’s patent-pending alternative to widely used toxic methods of extracting gold from electronic waste and ore. Many miners rely on cyanide- and acid-based leaching to recover precious metals.

Improvements and enhancements have been made to the chemical formula and processes leading to a significantly reduced leach cycle time, lower chemical consumption and improved recoveries, according to Mineworx.

“We look forward to showcasing our complete plant as an eco-friendly solution to our current and future potential partners in the electronic waste sector," Mineworx CEO Greg Pendura said in a statement.

The company said the Vancouver facility is projected to cost US$4 million with a designed capacity of 20 tons of printed circuit boards per day.

Last month, Mineworx announced that US Patent and Trademark Office had issued a patent covering the company's HM X-tract mobile modular mining-extraction process.
