:: NWATCO - Integrated Water Management in Former Coal Mining Regions  

MIRO and partners from the UK and Romania have won substantial funding from the EU LIFE Environment Programme to develop new strategies for the management of large coalfield drainage systems in relation to the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. The project which commenced on 1st September 2002 will last for a period of three years.
