:: Are Conditioning Tanks Making A Comeback?


They say everything old is new again........it is really interesting to look at some of the technology trends that have changed in our industry over time. If you go back 40 or even 50 years you would see that most flotation circuits were built with conditioning tanks, however over the last 30 years the trend has been to remove them. I think we are now starting to see a reversal in this trend with the humble conditioning tank making a comeback.

What is a conditioning tank and what they do?

Conditioning tanks were traditionally added to the front of flotation circuits for reagent addition to the slurry prior to it entering the flotation cells. With their demise, people generally just add reagent to mills or in flotation cell feed boxes.
