:: Flotation Pilot Plant - Canadian Firm Downsizes Plant and its Price

Canadian Process Technologies (CPT) of Delta is shipping its mini-pilot plants (MPP) to far-flung corners of the world including Australia, Bolivia and Brazil as well as Canada. The idea is that the small modular, continuous flotation systems can test circuit configurations at much less cost than building a conventional pilot plant.

The MPP system enables processors and researchers to evaluate new separation technologies on a wide range of ores, just as they do on larger plants. The results are as accurate as a full-scale pilot plant, but it requires only drill core samples for analysis, according to CPT, and an MPP can be run with minimal staff.

Column flotation cells are another CPT specialty. The company has just won a contract to design, engineer and supply flotation columns to a Russian iron ore producer. The contract includes eight columns, SlamJet^® spargers, related equipment and process control automation equipment.
