:: CPT Prepares Another Shipment Canadian Process Technologies Inc. a Delta B.C. based company that designs and manufactures mineral processing flotation columns and gas sparging systems, prepares another shipment of their MPP (Mini Pilot Plant) modular continuous flotation system. Mineral flotation is a key technology in minerals processing. The MPP system enables processors and researchers to more efficiently evaluate new separation technologies on a wide range of mineral ores at a significantly lower cost than a full scale pilot plant. A fully operational pilot plant may cost millions of dollars to build, requires a sizeable volume of sample ore, has high operational costs and needs metallurgical staff. Whereas the MPP provides results that are as accurate as a full scale pilot plant but requires only drill core samples and minimal staff to operate. Equally important is the ability to simulate an existing processing plant to determine the optimal design and configuration of the flotation circuit before making costly physical changes to the plant. That why companies like Falconbridge in Canada and CVRD in Brazil that use CPT’s mini pilot plant to generate important data on metallurgical recoveries and concentrate quality.
Of the three MPP systems pictured, two have been purchased by Minera San Cristobal - Apex Silver Mines of Bolivia and one by The Wark™, a research Institute established at the University of South Australia.
