:: AMIRA P9 Project Update

The P9 group of Mineral Processing projects continues its remarkable evolution with additional support from an expanded range of sponsor contacts in the Americas.

This follows sponsors meetings in the USA and Chile which gave sponsor companies in those areas first-hand exposure to the project.

The strategy of holding these regional sponsors meetings is a very important one for not only P9 but the whole of AMIRA International in our future role of communicating project outcomes directly to our membership worldwide. We found a number of attendees had not previously been exposed to the project.

The P9 project involves the University of Queensland’s Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (Australia), the University of Capetown (South Africa) and McGill University (Canada).

The project is sponsored by 32 companies worldwide. McGill University will be the lead institution in the Comminution Process Wear project, which will investigate media wear and develop models of the individual components which contribute to the wear of steel media.

For more information on specific projects see Comminution News and Flotation News
