:: The Woman's Auxiliary to the AIMME Scholarship Loan Fund

The Woman's Auxiliary to the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (WAAIME) Scholarship Loan Fund is used to assist full-time junior or senior university students and graduate students toward a degree in the Earth Sciences as related to the minerals industry. Fields recognized by the Auxiliary may include mining, geology, mineral sciences, metallurgy, petroleum, hydrology, mining economics, chemistry, environmental geology, materials science and other related specialties. The number of Scholarship Loans awarded each year is dictated by the amount of moneys available and the recommendation of the National SLF Committee, with final approval by the National Board.

Undergraduate assistance will have priority over graduate work. All candidates must be full-time students and must maintain full-time status to receive WAAIME assistance. A student may select any accredited college or university in the United States that he/she wishes to attend.

HOW TO APPLY - A student (rising junior, senior or one going into post-graduate work) interested in learning more about our program should contact us through our New York City office. He/She will then be put in touch with the Scholarship Loan Chairman of a WAAIME Section or a Member-at-Large. The Sections determine the student's eligibility. Applications of approved candidates will be presented to the National Scholarship Loan Fund Committee by no later than March 15th of each year. The National Committee makes its final recommendation to the National WAAIME Board soon thereafter.
