:: Canadian Mineral Processors Awards

Criteria

The nominating committee consists of the Present Chairman and several Past Chairmen. All awards are presented at the Annual Awards Dinner, held during the Annual Operators Conference in January of each year.

Mineral Processor of the Year Award

1. The award will be made from time to time as circumstances warrant, in recognition of meritorious service or an outstanding technical contribution to the industry.
2. The award shall consist of an appropriate plaque and other testimonial as decided from time to time by the Board of Directors.
3. No more than one award may be made in one year.
4. The recipient will normally be a member of the Canadian Mineral Processors Division but non-members with exceptional qualifications may be considered for the award.
5. The nominating committee as duly appointed in the by-laws will recommend a suitable candidate or candidates to the Board of Directors for the award.
6. The membership at large shall nominate candidates for the awards. The nomination shall be supported by at least five members of the Division.
7. Every nomination shall be accompanied by a statement giving clearly the reason, which, in the opinion of the nominators, make their nominee a suitable candidate for the award.
8. The Board of Directors of the Division shall assess the merits of the candidates and make the final adjudication of the award.
9. The award should be presented during the Annual Operators Conference. If this time and place is not suitable, the Board of Directors may specify suitable alternate arrangements for the presentation of the award.

The Bill Moore Special Achievement Award

1. The award will be made from time to time as circumstances warrant in recognition of meritorious service to the division or an outstanding technical contribution to the industry.
2. The award shall consist of an appropriate plaque and other testimonial as decided by the Board of Directors.
3. No more than one award may be made in one year.
4. The recipient will normally be a member of the Canadian Mineral Processors Division but non-members with exceptional qualifications may be considered for the award. This award is specifically intended to honour a younger member of the industry under the age of 35. This age restriction may be waived if, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, a suitable candidate is not available and another highly qualified candidate outside the age restriction is nominated.
5. The nominating committee as duly appointed in the by-laws will recommend a suitable candidate or candidates to the Board of Directors for the award.
6. The membership at large shall nominate candidates for the award. The nomination shall be supported by at least five members of the Division.

Canadian Mineral Processors Life Member Award

DESCRIPTION: Awarded from time to time by the membership at the Annual Meeting for demonstrated excellence in the science of Mineral beneficiation and ongoing contribution to the Canadian Mineral Processors.
CRITERIA: Nominated by five CMP members and a Member of the Canadian Mineral Processors or affiliates for 20 years or more. Selection criteria should consider demonstrated abilities and contributions to the science of minerals beneficiation in Canada; as an operator, research scientist, engineer, or academic. The recipient should also have provided valuable contributions to the Canadian Mineral Processors division and be an active participant in the Canadian Mineral Processors meetings and activities. Awarded to a maximum of five CMP members at any one time,
AWARD: The award will consist of commemorative plaque and a waiver of annual dues and meeting registration for the Canadian Mineral Processors division activities.
