Proceedings of the October 1999 conference jointly organized by the Chilean Institute of Mining Engineers, the Metallurgical Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society of the US, and the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) of the US. Volume one (435-6) contains plenary lectures and papers on movement of copper and industry outlook<-- >including economics and finances--and copper applications and fabrication. Volume two (436-4) includes 31 papers related to mineral processing and environment, health, and safety. Volume three (437-2) contains 48 papers--33 on electrorefining (industry improvements, anodes and cathodes, and reactions) and 15 on the theory and practice of electrowinning. Volume four (438-0) on hydrometallurgy contains 39 papers which highlight the optimization efforts in leach SXEW operations in the North and South Americas. Volume five (439-9) contains 52 papers which cover smelting operations and advances. The final volume (440-2) contains 44 chapters grouped into three sections: technology development, process modeling, and fundamentals. Each volume was prepared by a different team of editors.
