This, the 2nd International Symposium on Processing of Nickel Ores & Concentrates (Nickel Processing '10), is organised by Minerals Engineering International and sponsored by Xstrata Process Support.

The recent rapid increases in nickel prices have been driven by market forces reacting to a supply situation that is expected to worsen in the years to come. Increasing the efficiency of the processing of nickel ores and concentrates is thus a necessity.

The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers and plant operators, to discuss all aspects of the physical and chemical processing or nickel ores, copper-nickel ores and laterites, and nickel concentrates, including:

• Froth Flotation and other beneficiation methods
• Bio and Hydrometallurgy
• Pyrometallurgy
• Environmental aspects of nickel processing and smelting
