:: Falcon Technology Improves Recovery By Scavenging Tailings

Falcon's Model C Continuous Concentrator technology and The Royal Treatment can improve recovery without increasing the residence time and size of the leach train or flotation circuit.

FALCON C continuous technology focuses on metals and minerals below 500 microns. The unit is installed on leach or flotation tails as a scavenging unit treating the entire stream. Concentrate from the FALCON C is produced on a continuous basis and either fed back into the leach or flotation circuit, or reground and fed back.

The Royal Treatment involves installing a FALCON on leach feed and producing a high-grade continuous concentrate stream (~10% of the feed) that is leached under special conditions in leach tank #1. The lower grade tailing from the FALCON is discharged into leach tank #2. The benefit of doing this is that material that is difficult to leach (coarse gold, electrum, locked gold, etc.) is captured and given The Royal Treatment in leach tank #1. Echo Bay, Kettle River Operations was the first to do this in the world in 1998 with an average increase in overall plant recovery of 3%. This translated into 3,000 ounces per year.
