:: Gekko Systems Inducted into Manufacturing Hall of Fame

The Hon. Tim Holding, Minister for Manufacturing and Export in the Victorian State Government, last night inducted Gekko Systems into the Manufacturing Hall of Fame at a gala dinner for 800 people held at Flemington Race Course.

Geoff Hayes, General Manager, on receiving the Victorian Government's Certificate of Manufacturing Excellence from the Minister, said "Of all the awards Gekko Systems has received, this is the culmination of many years of hard work by the dedicated team at Gekko. This award is recognition of the great team we have at Gekko".

In 2000 the Victorian Government established the Manufacturing Hall of Fame to recognise and reward manufacturing companies. 50 Victorian companies have been inducted for their manufacturing excellence.

Gekko Systems commenced operations in Avoca in central Victoria in 1996 moving to Ballarat in 1998 shortly after receiving the Emerging Micro Business Award to be closer to material suppliers and a source of personnel experienced in mining and metallurgy required for the growing business. 31 people now work at Gekko at their Learmonth Road site and the range of proprietary mineral processing equipment manufactured there is exported globally.
