by A. Alfantazi, C. Anderson, A. James, D. Dreisinger, B. Harris, C. Young, I. M. Ritchie
Review:
Papers from an August 2003 meeting, written by academic, industrial, administrative, and government personnel involved in a variety of hydrometallurgical applications, are presented in this two-volume set. Although there are papers on a variety of topics, focus is on leaching and solution purification (Volume I) and electrometallurgy and environmental hydrometallurgy (Volume II). Papers in Volume I examine precious metal leaching with cyanide and alternatives, leaching applications and fundamentals using heap, chloride, and autoclave techniques, and solvent extraction. Volume II includes three plenary presentations on business aspects and biotechnologies, as well as papers on acid-rock drainage and other environmental issues, precipitation and crystallization, plant operations, and electrowinning. There is no subject index.©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
