Mill Superintendent  [Jan.27, 2010]

Location: Mt.Rawson, QLD, Australia

A leadership opportunity exists for a Mill Superintendent based at our gold mine and processing plant in Mt Rawdon. Reporting to the General Manager, this role encompasses responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the plant and providing direction on metallurgy issues.

We have several significant metallurgical process studies planned for 2010, and have committed to further developing inter-departmental communication both on site and with our corporate office in Brisbane. You will have the opportunity and autonomy to apply your metallurgical and leadership skills in what is already an efficient and profitable 100,000 ounce gold mining operation.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Managing the crusher, mill, laboratory and tailings dam;
• Maintaining an up-to-date plant schedule for the Senior Metallurgist, Mill Shift Supervisors and Maintenance Superintendent;
• Reviewing critical production data on a daily basis;
• Monitoring, managing and reporting on costs and production results within agreed timeframes;
• Conduct on-going project work as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy is not essential, but highly regarded;
• Proven experience in metallurgical processing as a Mill Manager, Superintendent or Foreman;
• Demonstrated skills in process plant planning and scheduling, budget and forecast reporting and promoting a safety culture;
• Demonstrated high level leadership and people management skills.

As Process Plant Superintendent you will form part of the senior site leadership team and have a strong focus on project management and personnel development. Offered on a residential basis only, you will be provided with a vehicle, housing and an attractive remuneration package.
