Metallurgical Technician  [Feb.9, 2010]

Location: Perth, Australia

Metallurgical Technicians required for a Metallurgical Sample testing facility for a 7 - 10 week sample testing period.

The position is due to start in February for a 7 to 10 week period.

The position will work a 12 hour shift roster, which currently is planned as 5 days on, 5 days off, followed by 14 days on, 14 days off and a further 14 days on. Following the shift roster period there will decommissioning work which will be conducted on day shift only.

The facility is located North of the river but is not well catered for by public transport so your own transport is essential for this position.

Technicians will be employed in a hands on role, operating a small but technically complex pilot plant treating uranium ore. Tasks will include:

• Milling and screening ore
• Acid addition
• Operation of agitated tanks and thickeners
• Mixing and adding settling agents
• Sampling process streams

Previous Metallurgical/chemical processing experience Good organisational skills Safety conscious Good communication skills Good numeracy and literacy skills Show attention to detail and accurate data recording Reliability and good time keeping Experience with shift work Have own transport
