Northgate Australian Ventures Corporation Pty Ltd owns and operates the Fosterville and Stawell Gold Mines. The Fosterville Gold Mine is located in Central Victoria, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo. Employees normally reside in Bendigo, which has a population of approx 100,000 people. The position would be based at Fosterville where underground mining is the primary operation.

Fosterville is seeking applications for an outstanding individual to join the Processing team to assist in the on-going development and operation of the bacterial oxidation processing facility.

Reporting to the Processing Manager, duties include the provision of leadership, management and coordination of the Processing Technical Team to optimise current plant performance and to identify and implement solutions to improve gold recoveries.

Other duties include:

Developing and promoting safe work systems and practices. Establish and manage training plans and assessment tools. Providing technical advice and analysis on all processing circuits. Manage capital projects. Set operating targets and review compliance with Processing Superintendent. Identify and develop potential projects for maximisation of plant efficiencies. Provide accurate and timely reports for projects and other testwork as required. Provide leave coverage for the Processing Manager.

Candidates will:

Preferably possess more than 4 yrs gold plant experience. Have proven analytical and problem solving skills. Preferably have both strong Technical and Operational knowledge and ability. Hold appropriate qualifications in Metallurgy or related discipline. Have excellent computer skills and operating knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Have strong planning and coordination abilities.
