Mill General Foreman  [Feb.16, 2010]

Location: Alaska, USA

Coeur Alaska is recruiting a Mill General Foreman for our Kensington Gold Mine, presently under construction and located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, guide and mentor mill operations and water treatment plant personnel to maximize operational safety, process efficiencies and gold recovery to maximize and enhance Company production goals.
• Establish operating priorities and interact with maintenance and operational supervisors to coordinate production activities with maintenance requirements.
• Mentor and enhance effective supervisory skills and performance of the mill supervisors. Perform timely and objective evaluations, recommend promotions, and initiate corrective measures as needed.
• Pro-actively assess, monitor and recommend modifications to increase safety, environmental, and health aspects of the mill.
• Pro-actively assess, monitor and recommend modifications to increase gold recovery efficiency, plant availability and decrease operational costs.
• Monitor records of the mill operations including safety meetings, attendance, vacations, scheduling, and accidents.
• Participate in the design and construction of plant expansions or modifications.

Experience & Skills:

• Metallurgical degree or in a similar discipline is preferred, however, a strong demonstrated successes in processing plant operation will be considered. General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions.
• Good understanding of gold metallurgy
• Demonstrated expertise in managing safe, productive workforces
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills and interpersonal abilities
• Strong computer skills including a working knowledge Microsoft Office Suites
