Senior BIOX Metallurgist  [Feb.19, 2010]

Location: Gauteng, South Africa

This analytical and results-orientated individual must hold a BSc Engineering (Chemical or Metallurgical) degree or equivalent with at least 3 years relevant experience. Experience in mineral process flow sheet, equipment design and commissioning of process plants is essential, as is exp in laboratory and pilot-scale mineral processing test work specifically in the biotechnology field. The successful candidate must be computer literate in Microsoft Office, exhibit well-developed interpersonal and English communication competencies as well as be willing and able to travel extensively internationally whenever necessary. Applicants must successfully under pre-employment and regular post-employment security screening and be declared medical fit for the position and environment

Key Responsibilities

• Performing bio-hydro metallurgical test work as part of research and development programmes
• Process design, detailed engineering and commissioning of new biotechnology plants
• Training staff for new plants
• Solving problems at existing operations
• BIOX audits on existing operations

Pre-screening, profile testing and security clearance and polygraph may form part of the selection process. Short-listed candidates will be requested to attend a panel interview.
