BMA Vacation Work 2008 [Aug.23, 2008] Location: QLD, Australia 479652 Load Up Your Practical Skills! BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, and the world’s largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. BMA was formed in June 2001, as a partnership between BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd, under which the two companies share equal ownership and management of nine Central Queensland coal mines. We invite highly motivated and enthusiastic tertiary students to participate in our Vacation Student Program for 2008/2009. The program runs during the Australian summer to coincide with the university summer vacation period, commencing the first week in December 2008 and concluding the last week in January 2009. If you are a talented self-starter, excited by the challenge of working in an environment where you will be expected to make things happen from day one, then BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance could be for you. Am I eligible? To be eligible for the Vacation Student Program, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or have the right to work in Australia. You must also be a 2nd, 3rd and 4th year tertiary student in one the following disciplines:
To gain the most benefit from your placement, you must thrive within a team environment and be able to apply your studies in a practical way so as to develop meaningful, productive solutions to real work assignments. Whilst learning new skills and gaining knowledge, you will be supported by managers and specialists from a range of areas. To be considered, you must have a genuine desire to work within the resources sector and be at least in the 2nd year of your degree. This presents an excellent opportunity to gain essential industry experience and will help you decide whether the industry and BHP Billiton are right for you. Please note that all the positions will be located in Central Queensland at various BMA mine-site locations. All positions are paid and accommodation will be provided.
