Project-Graduate Metallurgist  [Apr.3, 2008]

Location: QLD, Australia

CSIRO Minerals is seeking an enthusiastic Project/Graduate Metallurgist to take part in laboratory and pilot-scale mineral processing research projects, with a particular focus on iron ore processing. You will join a talented research team and will be involved in the development of new processing methods as well as the application of existing methods to new ore deposits.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter with demonstrated abilities to perform laboratory and pilot-scale mineral processing investigations with a degree in metallurgy, mineral processing, chemical engineering or equivalent qualifications or experience. Well developed oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic team approach are also essential.

The position is indefinite and will be based at our world-class Pullenvale research laboratory in Brisbane, which offers outstanding facilities in a new and growing research environment. The position may require working in industrial plants from time to time.
